This is the fifth Knicks home game I have attended this season and it was a entertaining one. Knicks were victorious with a 98 to 92 win, led by Amare's 26 & 8. But the real story of today's game were the blocks, Turiaf was in beast mode denying everything from lay-ups to dunks(6 to be exact) and even some jumpers.
Toney Douglas played maybe his best Point Guard game this season, 12 points, 7 assists, and 1 turnover. This game may have briefly quited the back-up PG trade talk , but consistency will be the key to Toney's floor time.
Considering today's game being a post NYE bonanza and football Sunday, the turnout was quite well. Many tourists were on hand but that didn't seem to matter too much because the Garden was rocking like a contender was in town.
With almost six minutes left in the game, Indiana’s Brandon Rush(notes) drove for a right-handed layup but missed. As he lost his balance, his right shoulder collided with Danilo Gallinari’s(notes) left knee.
Gallinari did not return. A spokesman for the Knicks said that Gallinari had a sprained left knee. X-rays were negative and he will go in for an MRI on Monday.
Gallinari said he felt some “stretch and a little click” on the side of his knee. “There’s nothing to worry about,” Gallinari said. “I felt a lot of pain right after the guy fell on my knee. But when I started to walk, the pain started to go down. Actually right now it’s (just) discomfort.”
