"To move to a whole new state is not fun — trying to figure out your family situation, figure out where you'll be living, figuring out new routes to your work. That's not fun," James tells USA TODAY. "The experience and gratification of it all, it becomes fun."
Fun days, indeed.
James is 25, entering his eighth season in the league, with an outstanding chance to win his first NBA title soon. The NBA's two-time defending MVP signed a six-year, $109.8 million contract to join friends Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh in Miami. James made Fortune's "40 Under 40" list, the youngest to do so and the only athlete. on the list. And he just released a new Nike product, the LeBron 8 Miami Edition sneakers, featuring the primary teal color of the NFL Dolphins and baseball's Marlins.
The roots in south Florida, while not yet extensive, are beginning to grow for James, who is still searching for a permanent residence.
