Here are some connections between the Knicks and Timberwolves...



  • Timberwolves general manager Jim Stack spent the 2003-04 season as an advance scout for the Knicks.


  • Timberwolves President of Basketball Operations David Kahn worked under Donnie Walsh as general manager of the Indiana Pacers from 1998-2002.


  • Timberwolves head coach Kurt Rambis was selected in the third round (58th overall) of the 1980 NBA Draft by the Knicks, but never played a game for New York (released in training camp).


  • Ronny Turiaf played three seasons for the LA Lakers (2005-08) with Kurt Rambis as one of his assistant coaches.


  • Bill Walker played at Kansas State with Timberwolves forward Michael Beasley during the 2007-2008 season.
