Ewing, ZO, and Mutombo to run Camp in Africa

via ESPN.com

Former NBA All-Stars and Georgetown centers Patrick Ewing, Alonzo Mourning and Dikembe Mutombo will travel to South Africa next month for a Basketball without Borders camp.
Coaches Lionel Hollins of Memphis and Monty Williams of New Orleans also are part of the group working the Sept. 1-4 camp, the eighth held in South Africa.
With the NBA in a lockout, current players can't attend the camps, which gather young players from the region for on-court instruction while also providing them with life skills.
It's the first trip to Africa together for Ewing, Mourning and Mutombo since they were part of a group that gave clinics in Kenya, the Democratic Republic of the Congo and South Africa in 1994.
Its good to see Georgetown players travel abroad for something good for a change...

Happy Birthday Kenny "Sky" Walker

Kenny was most remembered by his tremendous performance in the 1989 NBA Dunk contest where he pulled of Vince Carter 2000 Dunk Contest type dunks. From the Hi-Top fade, spandex underwear way longer than his shorts, and tight gold chains, his look was very hard to forget. His career was cut short with the Knicks due to reoccurring knee issues but he did manage to race a horse at a race track and win.

Amare: Foot Locker Educators 2 Commerical

Its funny that NIKE gives STAT the props of a OG in these commericals yet that can't find a correct signature shoe for him. Last season Amare rocked the nike huarache 2011, which arent even Basketball sneakers(they fall under the Cross-Trainer Class). In the past I've posted kicks that NIKE would have liked to had made the sig shoe for him but they never worked out for whatever reason.

Check out the original Educators Commerical: HERE

Billups Gives an Update on his Status

Chauncey Billups was in Massachuests at the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame yesterday to recive the Mannie Jackson Human Spirit Award. The NYPost caught up with him and he addressed some off-season questions including the status of the knee, rookie draft pick Iman Shumpert and a few other concerns.
"I'm getting better. I'm just now starting to work on the court, individual workouts," Billups said. "Not yet 5-on-5, but it's feeling a lot better."

"I heard a lot of good things about him," Billups said. "I never got chance to see him play. If things I heard about him is true, it will be a good pick for us."

Happy 46th Birthday to John Starks: Rarely Seen Video Bio (Full)

Happy 46th to one the most beloved and hated Knicks players of all-time. I have to admit, he was my favorite player during the 90's era. The grit, passion, and energy he played with night in and night out was unmatched. He took the Napoleon Complex effect onto the court and translated it into a wonderful basketball career. Whether you loved or hated him you were going to respect him during those 48 minutes. Check out the rarely seen Video Bio from MSG:

Better Video: Kevin Durant Puts on a Show in Harlem's Rucker Park

Kevin Durant made a surprise appearance to Harlem last night and put on a classic outing, dropping 66 points and basically raining down threes after threes. There has been some memorable performances by NBA Stars at the Rucker but this one might be at the top of the list.

The Jordan Brand Flight Tour of China continued to Hangzhou, where Jordan Brand athletes Carmelo Anthony, Chris Paul, and the newly arrived Dwyane Wade (he missed out on Hong Kong and Chengdu) toured the city and its blazing hot temperature before heading to the sports arena for a rematch between Carmelo and CP3. KOF: Weekly review Jordan Edition

For all my Jordan/BBall/Sneakerheads this has been a great year for kicks, and this fall its only getting better with this line-up. Black Cements are crazy but the Concords are legendary, remember when MJ brought these out when he changed his number back to 23 against the Magic in the playoffs?
